Welcome home to Unity!
If
you're one of the “spiritual but not religious” people
who questions your childhood faith or is looking for something more,
this Web site may feel like a homecoming.
You may be one of the
millions of people who have embarked on their own spiritual path.
If so, you have just discovered a whole community of people like
yourself. It is Unity – a spiritual movement that honors all
paths to God; sees God as good and everywhere present; and affirms
the spark of Divinity in all of us. Unity also offers a positive,
practical, progressive approach to Christianity, regarding Jesus
as the great example rather than the great exception. Unity interprets
the Bible metaphysically rather than literally. Have you ever imagined
that the Bible could be the story of your own life? It is just one
of the tools available for powerful personal transformation. Join
us here on this website or at our church for services, classes events
and fellowship. We will be glad you did! Welcome home~
Whether
you are visiting us only through this website, have attended
our weekend celebration service, or discovered us through our classes
or workshops, we welcome you here. Wherever you are on your spiritual
journey, we will meet you there. We honor all paths to God, as we
know we are all unique expressions of God in our world. We respect
the truth wherever it is found, following specifically the truth
teachings of Jesus Christ, our teacher and way-shower. If you are
new to us please read on to learn more about Unity, our church and
our beliefs.

Some of
Our Activities:
Looking to the Future: Spring of 2010
Christ Church Unity will participate in the county's alternative
housing program, The Interfaith Shelter Network (ISN). The ISN is
the county's shelter program that operates with host churches to
provide 6 months of housing to 250 families each year. The program
is open to those who are looking to make changes in their lives
and work on a plan to end their homelessness.
Together we can provide all the essentials for our guests to stay
at CCU for two weeks from March 7-14, 2010. We will need volunteers
to stay overnight, cook meals and share talents, donate items or
give a monetary gift so supplies can be purchased. Together we can
make this a pleasant and helpful experience.
Although March seems far away, it will come up fast and we are want
to be well-prepared. Watch your bulletin for the dates when we will
have tables set up in Wrigley Hall after services. This is where
you can receive more information about the event. If you can't get
by the church and want to participate, e-mail AOUfamilygroups@cox.net
for more information on when our volunteer orientation will be held
or to make a donation.

2010 Unity People’s Convention “Circles of Divine
Love”
June 7-11, 2010 at the Town & Country Resort, San Diego
The largest event of the Association of Unity Churches International
will be held right here in San Diego! Volunteers from local Unity
churches are asked to support the People’s Convention. Volunteers
are being recruited for positions in the areas of pre-registration,
on-site registration, welcome and information, workshops, daytime
ushers, evening ushers, volunteer check-in and support, bookstore,
and banquet decorations. There are opportunities available daily
in 2 to 4 hour periods from as early as 6:30am until as late as
10:30pm Monday through Friday. This is a fun way to step into volunteer
service while meeting Unity ministers, licensed teachers, and truth
students from all over the world and receive great benefits for
your loving service to the convention.
Yes, there are perks! The Association offers a work exchange for
volunteers: for each hour worked, you are allowed to attend an hour
of workshop or keynote of your choice free of charge! Rev. Michael
Beckwith will be one of the many exiting keynote speakers!
CCU will begin volunteer recruitment in March 2010. Rebecca Coiner
will be our Volunteer Coordinator for this special event. Contact
her at 619-280-2501, ext. 101.
A table will be set-up in Wrigley Hall with volunteer applications
and volunteer position information. All positions will be assigned
on a first-come, first-serve basis so get your application in as
soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to meet new people,
to be of service, and to experience the joy of Unity.
