Growing Through Letting Go - Rev. Blair Tabor - 03-11-2018

Growing through Letting Go”

The Void

T.S. Elliot poem – Brumet book p 83

We can “see” farther in winter forest

Scripture Luke 22:42 “…nevertheless not My will, but Thine be done.”

“Actively letting go moves us in our growth.

Let go: I let go of the need for an acronym

 Release the “endings.”

We avoid the “void”

Avoid: to empty, remove, erase, abandon

Let go -> new creation

J.C. lose your life & you will find it

Accept all the aspects of grief & release past

Affirmation “I release into God’s unfolding greater good.”

Submit to “no thing.”

Ordeal (annihilation)

     “Not that.”  Buddhist phrase

We hold onto “stuff” on all levels

D.W. 3-7-2018 Surrender

“I let go of who I think I am…”

“Be like melting snow -- wash yourself of yourself.”  Rumi

Aff “I release into God’s unfolding greater good.”

Face the “dark side.”

Step back from needing to know

Symptoms of separateness: loneliness, jealousy, fear, shame = Demons

Prepare, but don’t make your mind up about the outcome

Affirmation “I release into God’s unfolding greater good.”

Find your “allies.”

Moses at Red Sea Ex 14:13 “Fear not, Stand still & see help…”

Allies: Present “beneath” the storm

Find your depth

Power animal, spirit guides, medicine symbols

Affirmation “I release into God’s unfolding greater good.”

Be present to the process.

“Observer” Untethered Soul

“To die but not to perish is to be eternally present.”  Lao Tsu

State of mind: Empty!

Instead of “I want this in order to be happy,

I am aware, I am happy”

"You cannot travel the path until you have become the path itself."  Buddha

Let go, let God!

Affirmation “I release into God’s unfolding greater good.”

Evolutionary pattern: After life seems ripped apart -> moving toward a center point of peace

From needing to be full & resisting emptiness -> present to deep stillness

No wanting to face - > glad we did

“Growing through Letting Go”

“Actively letting go moves us in our growth.
