Food Drive for Western Service Workers
Western Service Worker’s Association needs your donations
of, dried rice and beans, peanut butter
and canned meats.. Please bring items
to Wrigley Hall during May. This all-volunteer association is comprised of
families who may have two or three jobs in restaurants and hotels
in order to meet their needs. In winter, increased utility bills
can cause a decrease in food budgets. Often heat is not used in
their homes because of the expense. Our donations can help many.
Thank you for your donations in past months. For more information,
please contact Aline King at 619-280-2501, ex 133.
Shoes4unity
Our church is joining Unity churches around the world in a service
project: Shoes4Unity.Over 300 million children around the world
are without shoes. There are two ways to help: It is estimated
that there 1.8 billion shoes lying unused in American closets.
December 6th-20th, bring your unused shoes to church. We will
collect them and send them to folks who can use them. This year
we will decorate our Christmas Tree in the sanctuary with donation
cards for Shoes4Unity. $5 gives someone a pair of new shoes. $20
gives a family the gift of shoes. $100 is enough for a school
to receive new shoes. $250 will provide shoes for a whole village.
Plan now to donate shoes and money to save soles around the world.
Look for information in the Sunday bulletin and in Wrigley Hall.
Stuffed Animals
Each year we gather stuffed toys for distribution. Last year we
gave away over 250 toys. We may have more than that many already.
This will be a great year to have lots of toys to share. We will
be blessing the stuffed animals on Sunday, December 13th, in preparing
for distributing them in time for Christmas. Thank you for your
support!

Maximize Your Shopping Dollars
by GoodShopping Through GoodSearch!
Shop online and help your church at the same time with GoodShopping!
We are ending the second year of our GoodSearch program having
earned more than $300. GoodSearch is a search engine which pays
us a penny for each search done through their website. In 2007,
GoodSearch expanded to include GoodShop, an online shopping mall
of world-class merchants also dedicated to helping fund worthy
causes across the country. Each purchase made via the GoodShop
mall results in a donation to our church. Follow the directions
from the GoodSearch home page at www.GoodSearch.com, making sure
our church name is shown in the field for charity. Click on the
GoodShop box to the right on the page, and look at all the merchants
available. If you have questions, please speak with Meredith at
the scrip table.
Prosperity
The Law of Giving and
Receiving
Giving and receiving are the ways we participate in establishing
balance in the manifestation of prosperity. Giving and receiving
cause a flow of substance in soul and body which manifest in every
area of our lives. Practicing giving and receiving will release
the flow of abundant good in our consciousness.
Tithing
Christ Church Unity San Diego is sustained by the free-will tithes
and gifts of each person that has been fed by this ministry. Look
to your heart to see how this ministry has touched your life.
Tithing is a special kind of giving: it is giving with the thought
of God uppermost in our minds. Pure tithing is giving ten percent
of your income back to the source of your spiritual good- the
source that nourishes you spiritually, that place that gives you
your spiritual food. We as a church tithe 10% of all worship receipts
to those places where our ministry has been spiritually fed. We
invite you to make your contribution in whatever way you are able
to help us all grow spiritually as a community. Tithing is based
on the belief that all our good comes from God, that God is the
source of all that we have, and that through giving back to God
the first fruits of our labors, we are planting seeds for future
harvest of our bounty. Tithing is recognition of the presence
of God within as the source of all our good. Nothing builds consciousness
as much as the process of giving our tenth willingly, cheerfully,
lovingly and joyfully.
Recycling Program
Donate your used cell phones, ink jets, toner cartridges, DVDs,
laptops, MP3 players, video game consoles, digital cameras, GPS
devices, digital picture frames and portable DVD players to Christ
Church Unity. One company is now taking all cell phones and batteries
and making sure they are safely disposed of without cost. CCU
will receive from $1.60 to $100.00 for eligible items. It costs
CCU nothing to participate. Look for the recycle bins on the stage
and in the tower hallway. Your contribution helps save the earth’s
natural resources. These items will be reconditioned and used
again instead of ending up in landfills. For more information
speak to Meredith Tabor.
